Built from a strong sheet of aluminium, the X-Bracket is a mounting platform that works with our Standard Pannier racks. It is designed to be used as a mounting base for a variety of accessories, including but not limited to, a 1 gallon Rotopax (or similar) fuel/water canister, our Tool Box, a First Aid kit, and others.*
The sliding X-Bracket can be mounted anywhere along the pannier racks and on either side, providing you with flexibility and customisation for whatever your set up may be!
*The fuel canister and the other mentioned accessories are not included with the X-Bracket.

Our X-Bracket platform can be mounted on ALL Outback Motortek Standard Pannier Racks.
It might also be compatible with other pannier rack brands, with the following specs:
- 18mm diameter tubing
- 213 (H) x 313 (L) internal diameter
What fits on the X-Bracket?
Our Tool Box can be mounted on all Outback Motortek pannier racks with the X-Bracket.
1 Gallon ‘Rotopax’ (or similar) fuel/water canisters can be mounted on ALL symmetrical pannier racks.
What Asymmetrical Pannier Racks is it Compatible with?
- It can also be mounted on the following asymmetrical pannier racks:
- BMW R1250GS / R1200GS pannier racks (asymmetrical).
- Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere pannier racks (asymmetrical).
- Compatible with slight modifications/limitations
- Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin pannier racks (asymmetrical).
- Honda CRF250L pannier racks – OEM tool box must be removed.
- KTM 1090/1190/1290 Adventure R / S pannier racks (asymmetrical) – same as above.
- Yamaha Tenere 700 pannier racks – canister fits only in a vertical position.

We have designed a universal lockable tool box designed to fit and keep all your tools in one place! You can mount it on either side of pannier racks as long as they have an X-Bracket, or you can mount it on the rear luggage rack! Both of these systems use the Rotopax mounting bracket, which is what makes it universal.
If you have our Standard Pannier racks, you'll need an 'X-Bracket' mounting platform. Choose 'Yes' on the 'X-Bracket' option below, or get it here.

It seems that the “standard” RotoPax holes are not that standard for all the adapters. I had to drill additional space-holes in the existing plate of the Kriega plate adapter and special order screws to fit gas canisters. Of course it was not necessarily the design of the Outback Motorek , but I just have to mention that these standards do not always fit.
