 The GasGas ES 700 is a great dual sport motorcycle. So much so, that we chose to test our ES 700 accessories, including this skid plate, on some really gnarly sections of the Spanish and Italian Trans Euro Trail. We found that this skid plate was a pivotal piece in protecting the oil pan, engine case, and the exhaust headers.
This product is the same as the skid plate for the KTM 690. It can also be ordered here!

Description
- Protects crucial engine components – The oil pan, engine case, and the exhaust headers compose a long list of very expensive parts you do not want to expose to any damage that could potentially end your ride and leave you stranded.
- Shaped to deflect – Inspired by adventure and enduro riding, we shaped this skid plate to deflect trailside objects such as rocks, stumps, logs etc.Â
- 4mm thick laser cut aluminum – Nothing is ever overkill on an adventure bike, hence we chose to build this skid plate from this ridiculously tough and thick, yet lightweight material.
- Tough mounting points – No cutting corners here (either)! We used precise laser cut pieces for perfect fitment using 5mm thick metal mounts. These parts absorb the impact from drops and tip overs instead of your bike’s chassis.
- Powder coated – Combined with sandblasting, it’s a killer combination to protect the product’s surface. No frills, and tough just like your GasGas ES 700/SM 700!

We wanted to preserve the simplicity and light weight of the KTM 690 Enduro R / SMC R so we decided to keep it simple and effective through a frame mounted design that proved itself to be reliable against drops and tip overs. We tested the crash bars and the Skid Plate on some gnarly sections of the Spanish and Italian Trans Euro Trail!
