Lower Crash Bars
- Quality 27mm/1.06″ steel tube with 2mm wall thickness – Strong enough to withstand the impact when your heavy motorcycle falls on its side! Our crash bars will take the beat and catch your bike when it falls.
- One of the biggest advantages of our crash bars is the all around 27mm diameter tubing that rests on 4mm and 5mm thick steel mounting tabs which offers reliable protection for the fairing and the radiator.
- Hand MIG welded – It’s all about the strength! We continue to follow our philosophy: toughness and functionality over appearance.
- Less is more – The design is based on the philosophy that less is more, hence we created a compact and sturdy set of crash bars that stay close to the mounting points. This system perfectly complements the sporty, aggressive lines of the Africa Twin.
- Powder coated – Combined with sandblasting, it’s a killer combination to protect the product’s surface. No frills, and tough just like your Africa Twin!

Engine Case Guards
- Entirely frame mounted using 4mm and 5mm steel tabs for maximum strength
- Crash bars reinforcement – The engine guard is mounted onto the crash bars through a reinforcement bar.
- 27mm diameter tubing – Handles the weight of the bike under impact (crash).
- Sandblasted and powder coated surface – Tough coating that lasts.
Engine Case Guards Compatibility
Compatible with 2016-2019 Standard model.
Compatible with 2018-2019 Adventure Sports model.
Outback Motortek Lower Crash Bars must be installed in order to install the engine case guards.
Compatible with both the manual and DCT model variants.
Not compatible with DCT foot shifter pedal.
Compatible with both Standard and Adventure Sports original skid plates only after performing these minor modifications.
Skid Plate
- Protects crucial engine components – The oil pan, oil cooler, oil filter, engine case, and the exhaust headers compose a long list of very expensive parts you do not want to expose to any damage that could potentially end your ride and leave you stranded.
- Uniquely designed vent system – Not only unique, but very-well thought out! No unnecessary holes were designed on this skid plate. As a result your engine is less likely to overheat when mud and other debris from off-roading get stuck between the skid plate and the engine/exhaust header.
- True off-road and adventure shape – We avoid designing skid plates that have a rectangular shape and sharp edges and corners that are guaranteed to restrict your off road rides. This skid plate is specifically designed to tackle obstacles and unconventional trails to help you to explore more!
- 4mm thick laser cut aluminium – Lightweight, yet thick and strong to withstand potential damage!
- Powder coated – Combined with sandblasting, it’s a killer combination to protect the product’s surface. No frills, and tough just like your Africa Twin!

One of the first things that will get exposed to potential damage in the event of a drop or tip over, is the Africa Twin’s engine (case). The 27mm diameter reinforcement bar ties the engine guard and the crash bars together, increasing the strength of the overall system. This design allows for large impacts to be evenly distributed throughout the entire system, minimizing damage to the bike’s engine, frame, and other vital components.

The lower crash bars are an integral piece to protecting your Africa Twin, they are fully frame mounted and have proven to be effective in drops and tip overs. Additionally they are the foundation for the Engine Case Guards and the Upper Crash Bars!

Important: Changing the air filter in your Africa Twin is a big job that requires the removal of the plastic fairings. You can still remove, or have the plastic fairings removed, by your dealer’s mechanic without having to remove the lower crash bars.

J’ai pu vérifier leur solidité sur une chute assez violente à l’arrêt, rien n’a bougé. Il est possible, moyennant quelques heures pour les plus novices, de les monter soit même. Cependant, les consignes sont assez floues, je vous conseille de négocier avec votre concessionnaire pour le montage. Excellent produit !

Muy buenas defensas, las tengo instaladas en mi africa twin adventure sports 2019 y son geniales, muy robustas y el cubre carter ya me ha ahorrado algún susto con piedras sueltas. Tube una caída en zona blanda y a la moto no le pasó absolutamente nada. Otro amigo con una africa twin tubo ese mismo día otra caída en asfalto, deslizando la moto, y no sufrió daño alguno.
De momento, a día de hoy solo tengo palabras buenas para estas defensas.
