The 27mm diameter reinforcement bar ties the engine guard and the crash bars together, increasing the strength of the overall system. This design allows for large impacts to be evenly distributed throughout the entire system, minimizing damage to the bike’s engine, frame, and other vital components. The lower crash bars are an integral piece to protecting your Africa Twin, they are fully frame mounted and have proven to protect in drops and tip overs, like the ones in our drop test video! Additionally they are the foundation for the Engine Case Guards and the Upper Crash Bars.

The Outback Motortek skid plate for the CRF1100L Africa Twin features many new changes. The engine became wider and so did our skid plate! We added additional side and frontal protection to account for the repositioning of the catalytic converter, while adding cooling through additional small vent holes.
