Although we never really toyed with the idea to enter the scrambler market, the new BMW R 12 G/S has given us some boost!
Or a lot I should say. This one isn’t your traditional scrambler. The new R 12 G/S has been released to celebrate the success of the original BMW R 80 G/S at the Dakar Rally. Hence BMW came out with this classical looking machine with an off-road package.
Fully adjustable suspension (Off-road Package), 18″ rear and 21″ front wheels and HP2-like ground clearance! Mind you it’s significantly heavier than the HP2 was, but still. The R 12 G/S is elegant and feels rugged and minimalist.
We’re stoked that this new BMW model is in our fleet. We 3D scanned it a couple of weeks ago and some parts like crash bars, skid plate, rear luggage racks + passenger grab handles and panniers racks are currently going through R&D.
