Torture Tested – BMW F900GS Crash Bars

Screenshot

As usual, we put our F900GS crash bars through the wringer as well.

This time though we “spiced things up” by tying the bike to a V8 5.7L beast (Toyota Tundra) and recklessly dragged it four times. Twice on each side: gravel and pavement.

Why? Many comments on social media attack us for our crash bars testing method. The reasons are simple. Although these types of tests don’t guarantee anything, but at least we know the results of the most generic type crashes: low speed and various terrain.

No manufacturer will promise good results after a 50-80km/h crash. That’s not something anyone should expect. Having said that we’ve received dozens of great feedback from customers who crashed at high speed and the crash bars still lessened the damage.

Furthermore, it’s a marketing tool for us. Probably the best one. You can only get so much excitement out of computer simulations after all!

Let’s get to the point now. The full video can be seen below.
